To ensure the day’s sporting activities become a happy memory, maximum safety is essential. With over fifty years’ experience on the slopes of Livigno, the expertise of the professionals at Scuola Sci Centrale Ski School guarantees consistent technical learning for the little ones.
Teaching safety rules at a young age builds a solid foundation and creates a positive, play-based atmosphere.
The ten rules for young skiers
To make the guidelines easier to understand, the training is based on Lupigno’s ten rules. These rules translate vital safety instructions into clear and reassuring concepts:
- We’re all friends on the snow: ski slowly and carefully when near other people.
- Always keep your eyes peeled: whoever’s in front has right of way. It’s essential to watch where you’re heading to avoid collisions.
- Don’t go like a rocket: skiers should maintain a steady speed and brake when necessary.
- Green light? You can go: before setting off, you must stop. Look up and down to make sure the way is clear before proceeding.
- Overtake with style: when overtaking, you must leave plenty of space for the other skier, without tailgating them.
- Have you fallen? It can happen: if you slip, the correct reaction is to get back up immediately, like a spring. If you’re physically tired, you may only stop at the edge of the piste.
- Pay attention to the signs: the signs and coloured nets convey important information that must be read and observed.
- Walk at the edge of the piste: if you are not on skis, you must walk at the edge, very close to the trees.
- Telling the truth is what superheroes do: if a minor accident occurs, the pupil must report what has happened to the instructor or their parents.
- Help those in need: if someone else is injured, you must never touch the injured person. You must call out loudly and immediately for the instructor or an adult.
Training programmes and convenient logistics
These principles are applied within age-appropriate teaching programmes. The Ski&Play course is reserved for three-year-olds. The Junior groups support children’s progress up to the age of fourteen.
Private lessons for younger children allow for targeted individual instruction. The teaching is carried out by certified professionals and is conducted in eight different languages to eliminate any communication barriers. Lessons take place at three locations: Mottolino, Carosello 3000 and Campo Scuola 23. This layout minimises unnecessary travel and ensures that the instructor can be reached at the exact designated spot.
The integrated hire service provides equipment directly on the slopes, with a secure storage facility to solve the problem of bulky gear at the end of the day.
Our direct partnership with Interalpen Agency allows for the integrated booking of accommodation and ski services in a single package.
Planning the learning programme
Sports training based on respect for the rules consolidates mastery of movements and increases safety on the slopes.
Advance planning ensures access to the most suitable teaching modules based on age and starting level. To ensure methodical learning on the slopes of Livigno, it is advisable to check seasonal availability and then enrol in the programmes via the school’s official channels.
Booking well in advance allows you to organise your stay with complete peace of mind, entrusting the technical development of young skiers to qualified instructors.
